Welcome To Prairie Clean Enterprises - Applying For The Market Development Manager Position

This isn’t just a job… it’s a movement.

You’ll only get this opportunity once. Prairie Clean Enterprises (PCE) is launching a revolution in agricultural waste processing. We’ve found a way to turn flax straw into premium cat litter, elite-level horse bedding, clean-burning energy pellets and fibre. It’s where performance meets sustainability head-on, and it’s just the beginning.

We’re not just selling flax pellets – we’re selling purpose, impact, and a shift in how agricultural waste can make a difference.

Now, we need a grinder. A hustler. A closer. Someone who lives for the chase, crushes the follow-up, and doesn’t blink at a full calendar and a stacked route.

We’re Not Selling Flax Pellets. We’re Leading a Movement.

About Us
PCE turns flax straw into gold. OK, not actual gold, but pretty close. We’re what happens when agricultural innovation, smart products, and grit come together. Our customers include humane societies, large and small retail enterprises, distributors, and equestrian operations, and farmers.

Working with PCE is as unique as our products.  There’s a lot of hype out there about being inspired and rewarded by your job. But at PCE, we mean it. It’s who we are. And we intend to make a difference in the world while we make and sell these unreasonably effective flax-based products.

About You
You love talking to people. You’re scrappy. You close deals. You’ve probably been accused (more than once) of being “too intense about work” and you wear that like a badge of honour. We’re not looking for polished boardroom types, we’re looking for field warriors who can walk into a major retailer, vet clinic, pet store, or horse barn and walk out with a purchase order.

  • You live for the scorecard
  • Show up prepared and fired up
  • You build trust fast – and close even faster

We value these characteristics: bold, relentless, smart, creative, innovative, entrepreneurial, relationship-building, and above all, someone who has values as a north star. Perhaps you’re a seasoned pro. Or maybe you haven’t had the opportunity to realize your potential in the right place. Either way, now is your time to step up to the plate.

What You’ll Actually Do (aka The Real Job)

Sell, like you mean it: Pet stores, general retailers, feed stores, humane societies, co-ops, vet clinics, barns. If they have animals or stalls, you’re selling.

Be in the field: Expect some windshield and airport time. Plan your beat. Hit the road. Follow up because you love to move things forward.

Grow accounts: Not just opening doors, but keeping them open. That means reorders, POP materials, check-ins, and maybe the occasional donut drop.

Champion our products: From low-dust, soft-touch animal bedding to ammonia-busting cat litter, and soon, sustainable flax fuel pellets. You’ll have an impressive story to tell.

Keep Score: Yes, you'll need to use a CRM. No, it won’t be soul-crushing.

Gather market intel: Pricing trends, competitor antics, weird customer requests—we want it all.

You’ll Crush it Here if You...

  • Have opened hundreds of doors (warm and cold) in your life – and liked it.
  • Know how to talk to a barn owner in the morning and a retail buyer in the afternoon.
Can confidently explain why flax pellets are better (we’ll teach you).
  • Are unapologetically results-driven.
  • Are cool being measured, and rewarded, by accounts opened, reorder velocity, and visits made.

Nice-to-Haves

  • You’ve worked with major retailers.
  • You’ve repped a challenger CPG brand before, especially in pet, health, or ag.
  • You have an agricultural background.
  • Want to build something that lasts and make money while doing it.

Your Scorecard

  • Open 10–20 new accounts/month (after ramp-up)
  • Keep 60–80% reorder rates within 60 days
  • Make 15–20 in-person visits/week
  • Keep product stocked, shelves compliant, and staff educated
  • Own your territory. Be everywhere.

We’ve got serious momentum, game-changing products and a strategy that works. All we’re missing is you!

Location: Western Canada (Based in Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba – travel-heavy role) Preference for working in Regina at the Head Office.
