Welcome To Prairie Clean Enterprises - Applying For The Facility and Plant Manager Position

Who We Are

At Prairie Clean Enterprises (PCE), we are building something new from the ground up - transforming flax straw into high-value, sustainable products. Our values of People First, Character Always and Everyone Owns It, guide everything we do, from how we operate our facilities to how we treat each other. They are the foundation of The PCE Way.

We’re looking for a Facility and Plant Manager who’s not just a technical expert but a people-first leader. Someone who takes pride in creating a safe, efficient, and positive workplace - and who cares deeply about the team they lead and the community impact of their work.

As the Facility and Plant Manager, you’ll oversee the full operations of our Weyburn plant. From day-to-day operations, safety, maintenance to team development - you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our facility runs smoothly, safely, and sustainably.

You’ll be leading by example: building a team that shares our values, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality, and driving continuous improvement in every aspect of plant performance.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
  • Model and champion PCE’s values in all aspects of plant leadership.
  • Lead, coach, and develop plant team members, empowering them to grow and take pride in their work.
  • Oversee all plant functions, including production, maintenance, quality control, logistics, shipping and receiving, and safety compliance.
  • Ensure efficient, safe operation of all equipment while meeting production and quality targets.
  • Continuously analyze processes to optimize performance, reduce waste, and improve reliability.
  • Lead by example as a safety champion - upholding and enforcing all WorkSafe, OH&S, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through ongoing training, communication, and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with air, stormwater, environmental permits and standards.
  • Plan and oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Use plant data and technology to track maintenance activities, quality metrics, and operational performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean or Kaizen principles.
  • Manage staffing, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Build on a culture of open communication, respect, and recognition.
  • Support team growth and identify opportunities for professional development.
  • Prepare and manage plant budgets, work orders, and purchasing processes.
  • Maintain accurate operational reports and ensure timely communication with senior leadership.
  • Safeguard company assets and uphold operational excellence across the site.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial facility management.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Technical understanding of heavy machinery and industrial processes (experience with biomass or pellet production is an asset).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, inventory management, and scheduling systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with maintenance or ERP systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work flexible hours when needed.

What It’s Like to Work at PCE

We’re a team that celebrates progress - both big wins and small steps forward. We believe in the importance of making forward progress every day, and we embrace the principle of progress over perfection. You’ll be part of a collaborative, purpose-driven environment where innovation is encouraged, and every voice matters. We work hard, we take care of each other, and we share a vision for a more sustainable future. At Prairie Clean Enterprises, you’ll be part of a mission-driven company that is creating new revenue streams for farmers, investing in our communities, and making the world a better place.
