Aqua by El Gaucho seeks experienced bartenders with expertise in classic and contemporary cocktails and a commitment to exceptional hospitality. Beyond crafting exceptional beverages, you'll cultivate relationships and create a bar environment where guests want to return. Your deep knowledge of spirits, wines, and cocktails—both classic and contemporary—combined with your hospitality mindset will make you invaluable to our team.

Your expertise includes:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
  • Experience creating traditional and modern cocktails
  • Fine dining beverage service experience
  • Enthusiasm for selling through genuine hospitality
  • POS system proficiency
  • Cash handling and payment processing
  • Anticipating guest needs with intuition
  • Maintaining an impeccably organized bar

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-4 years bartending experience
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Alcohol server certification
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to build regular clientele

Compensation:

During the 2-week training period, and for certain limited activities thereafter (e.g., set-up for buy-outs, company meetings) you will get the applicable minimum wage for your location: $21.30/hr. After training, the pay range is the minimum wage for your location ($21.30/hour) to $102/hour, which is calculated by a variable base amount per hour (ranging from $1 to $21.30/hour) plus 15% commission on your individual gross sales (gross sales less comps), which is paid 100% to you and not shared with support staff, plus any voluntary tips or gratuities (“bumps”) paid at the guests' discretion, which are also paid entirely to you.* The average earnings, including commissions and bumps, are approximately $55-$70/hour; however, this rate is based on your gross sales and bumps, and as such may vary and is not guaranteed.

* In the unlikely event the base rate + commissions in a workweek do not meet or exceed the minimum wage, a server will be paid at least the location-specific minimum wage ($21.30/hour).

Benefits include:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (25+ hours/week)
  • 401k with employer match (after one year, age 18+)
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Family meals and dining discounts
  • Pet insurance
  • Sick Pay
  • Growth potential
  • Closed Sundays and Mondays (except special events)
