Foyer Père Fiset, a 71-bed long-term care home located in beautiful Chéticamp, NS, is seeking an experienced and resident-focused Direct Care Manager to join our leadership team. This role is essential to ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care and the smooth operation of clinical services within our home.
The Direct Care Manager works closely with the Director, Resident Care to strengthen clinical standards, enhance care quality, and support nursing staff across the organization. The role provides daily operational leadership, oversees the Clinical Care Coordinator, and supports the CCA team in delivering exceptional care.

Provide daily leadership in clinical operations, resident-centred care, and CCA oversight.
Support high-quality care delivery and ensure safe, evidence-based nursing practice.
Collaborate with the Director, Resident Care on strategic planning and operational priorities.
Support and co-lead recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and orientation of nursing staff.
Develop and deliver orientation frameworks and competency programs with Director, Resident Care and CCC to CCA teams.
Offer coaching, feedback, and informal performance management; escalate formal discipline to the Director, Resident Care.
Lead and monitor compliance with regulatory standards, infection prevention and control, and documentation expectations.
Conduct clinical audits and support performance reviews for assigned team members.
Review clinical indicators, incident trends, safety reports, and risk data to identify improvement opportunities.
Implement corrective action plans, education sessions, and monitoring systems to support high-quality care.
Work closely with the Clinical Care Coordinator, providing oversight, mentoring, and guidance.
Act as a leadership presence on site, fostering a supportive, accountable, and person-centred workplace culture.
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to organizational improvements.
Responsible for completing InterRAI assessments (approximately 8–10 hours/week).

Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with provincial regulatory body.
Progressive leadership experience in long-term care or a comparable clinical environment.
Demonstrated skill in:
Clinical policy and procedure implementation
Audit and compliance monitoring
Infection prevention and control
Care quality and best practices
Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency (MS Office, clinical software).
Strong communication, leadership, and coaching abilities.
Ability to foster accountability while maintaining a supportive team culture.
Strong critical-thinking skills and ability to identify and address clinical practice gaps.
