About the Role

Burlington Hyundai is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our accounting team on a part-time basis. Reporting to the Controller, this role plays an important part in the day-to-day financial operations of the dealership. The Junior Accountant supports key accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, vehicle deal posting, reconciliations, and documentation related to sales, service, parts, and inventory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice entry, payment recognition, and basic filing
  • Reconcile vehicle deals to ensure accuracy between sales documentation, accounting records, and manufacturer submissions
  • Post and reconcile parts and service transactions, including internal repair orders
  • Support vehicle inventory accounting, including unit reconciliations and assistance with flooring statements
  • Perform basic general ledger reconciliations as assigned
  • Assist with month-end close activities under the direction of the Controller or Accounting Manager
  • Support manufacturer/OEM documentation requirements, including incentives, warranties, and chargebacks
  • Collaborate with Sales, Service, and Parts teams to resolve routine discrepancies
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records in accordance with dealership policies
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting department as needed

  • Accuracy & Error Reduction: Errors corrected promptly with root cause identified
  • Timeliness: Consistent completion of tasks within required timelines
  • Month-End Support: Assigned responsibilities completed accurately and on schedule
  • Documentation & Organization: Records maintained to dealership and audit standards
  • Communication: Clear, timely, and professional communication with internal departments

 Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or general accounting
  • Strong Excel and computer skills
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly organized
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Coachable, enthusiastic, and independently driven
  • Process-oriented with strong attention to detail

 Hours of Work

  • Part-time position requiring a minimum of 12 hours per week
  • Hours worked will fall within Burlington Hyundai’s general business hours (Monday to Saturday)
