About the Opportunity

Support Ontario Youth (SOY) is proud to partner with a trusted Plumbing Company in Newmarket, ON. 

Seeking a dedicated and motivated Plumber's Helper to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the plumbing industry. The Plumber's Helper will assist licensed plumbers in various tasks, contributing to the successful completion of plumbing projects while learning essential skills along the way.

Responsibilities

• Assist plumber with installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements.
• Perform basic carpentry and construction tasks as needed.
• Help with HVAC installations and maintenance when required.
• Conduct assembly of plumbing components and systems.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored.
• Support troubleshooting efforts by applying basic math skills to solve problems on-site.
• Participate in welding tasks as necessary for specific projects.
• Assist in routine maintenance checks on plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance.

Experience
Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of mechanical principles, with experience in the following areas being beneficial:

• Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing systems.
• Completed apprenticeship schooling
• Power washing & Snaking
• Familiarity with carpentry techniques.
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely.
• Experience in construction environments.
• Knowledge of plumbing practices is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Experience with assembly tasks related to plumbing components.
• Welding skills are a plus but not required.

• Drives a car to Newmarket or GTA
• Monday to Friday 8am-8pm sometimes later
• The more experience the better  2 years or more.
• Pay $21 to $25per hour or more based on experience.
