Welcome To Food & Beverage Atlantic - Applying For The Marketing & Events Coordinator Position
The Marketing & Events Coordinator plays a central role in the execution and coordination of FBA’s marketing strategies and events. This position is responsible for managing all external communications, digital campaigns, marketing placements, and supporting the implementation of key projects across the organization. The ideal candidate is a proactive, creative, and tech-savvy professional with a passion for storytelling, branding, and organized execution.
This role supports major initiatives including the FBA Conference & Awards, industry masterclasses, government-funded proponent projects as well as regular association operations. By taking ownership of core marketing and event logistics, the coordinator will help drive revenue-generating activities while increasing operational efficiency.
This is a full-time, 1.2-year contract position with the potential for renewal based on funding and performance.
Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Lead for marketing plan and files at FBA
- Research, develop, and monitor FBA marketing strategies
- Manage the marketing third parties, process, and budget
- Manage all FBA digital communications, including social media, newsletters, and e-blasts.
- Create and execute marketing placements and campaigns.
- Design marketing assets and advertisements (digital, print, video) for events, programs, and member engagement.
- Assist in website maintenance, page creation, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Collaborate with partner agencies and organizations on cross-promotion opportunities
- Regularly report on marketing metrics and KPIs to leadership
Event Coordination
- Assist with planning, promotion, and execution of all FBA-hosted events, including conferences, training sessions, stakeholder meetings, trade shows, trade missions, etc.
- Set up and manage event registration platforms (Zoom, Member 365, AddEvents).
- Coordinate presenter logistics, digital materials, and follow-up communications.
- Revise surveys to adjust accordingly future events.
Program & Project Support
- Support marketing and event activities for funded proponent projects.
- Collaborate on project planning and execution, helping to expand FBA’s capacity and impact.
- Create digital forms, feedback surveys, and registration pages using FBA systems.
Team Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with the Director of Operations and Executive Director on timelines, deliverables, and reporting.
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.
- Provide marketing performance insights and campaign reporting when required.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience in a marketing, communications, or event coordination role.
- Experience working in a not-for-profit, association, or food & beverage sector considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Forms, etc.) is required.
- Experience with Meta (organic & paid ads), Google ads, Zoom Events, website platforms (Wordpress), and design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe) preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and copywriting skills (English; French is an asset).
- Strong project and time management abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable with digital marketing platforms and tools.
- Creative thinker with a problem-solving mindset and collaborative attitude.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving priorities.
Hours of Operations - 37.5 hours per week
Salary - $55,000-$65,000 based on experience
Office Location - Home-based – fully remote, priority provided to candidates in Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland but open to candidates in Nova Scotia & New Brunswick. Candidates outside of those Canadian provinces need not apply.
Reports To - The Marketing & Event Coordinator will report to the Director of Operations at Food and Beverage Atlantic (FBA).
