Server/Bartender – El Gaucho Seattle
El Gaucho Seattle is seeking an experienced Server/Bartender with a passion for exceptional hospitality. This is primarily a serving role with bartending shifts as needed.
Candidates must bring in-depth knowledge of food, beverage, wine, and cocktails — both classic and contemporary — alongside the skills to execute polished fine dining service. The ability to anticipate guest needs, stay organized under pressure, and confidently guide guests through the El Gaucho experience is essential.
Responsibilities include managing 3–4 tables as directed by management, accurately receiving and entering orders through our POS system, and communicating between front and back of house — all while following El Gaucho's steps of service. When behind the bar, you'll bring the same hospitality mindset to crafting beverages and cultivating guest relationships that keep people coming back. Efficiency in cash handling and payment processing is required. Prior tableside experience is a plus.
Requirements
Compensation
During the two-week training period, and for certain limited activities thereafter, you will receive the applicable minimum wage ($21.30/hr). After training, pay ranges from $21.30/hr to $102/hr, calculated as a variable base rate plus 15% commission on individual gross sales — paid entirely to you and not shared with support staff — plus any voluntary gratuities at the guest's discretion. Average earnings including commissions and gratuities are approximately $55–$70/hr; actual earnings vary based on individual sales performance and are not guaranteed.*
*In the unlikely event that base rate plus commissions do not meet minimum wage in a given workweek, you will be paid at least $21.30/hr.
