Argent Electrical Inc. is a growing electrical contractor based in St. Thomas, Ontario specializing in commercial electrical work, EV charging infrastructure, and emerging clean energy technologies.
We are seeking a motivated 309A Licensed Electrician to join our team and assist with a variety of commercial, residential, EV charging, and renewable energy projects across Southwestern Ontario. This position offers a mix of local projects in the St. Thomas and London area as well as regional work throughout Southwestern Ontario.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and commissioning electrical systems across commercial, residential, and energy infrastructure projects. Electricians will work on a variety of systems including power distribution, lighting, communications, controls, EV charging infrastructure, fire alarm systems, and renewable energy systems such as solar PV installations. The successful candidate will need to work well within a team on projects and may be asked to lead projects as the company continues to grow.
• Plan and complete electrical installations using blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Lay out, assemble, install, repair, maintain, connect, and test electrical systems
• Install conduits, cable trays, raceways, and electrical conductor enclosures and supports
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install conduit and other electrical raceways
• Splice and terminate electrical conductors
• Install and commission EV charging equipment and renewable energy systems
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in electrical and electronic systems
• Test electrical equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
• Maintain a high standard of safety and workmanship on all job sites
• Work collaboratively with project managers and team members to complete projects efficiently
• 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician License
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Licensed 309A Electrician
• Skilled Trades Ontario registration in good standing
• Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience with, or working knowledge of, solar PV systems and construction is considered an asset
• Experience installing EV chargers or energy infrastructure equipment
• Working at Heights certification or lift equipment experience considered an asset
• Experience leading a crew of electricians or apprentices on job sites, including task assignment, daily coordination, and quality oversight
• Demonstrated ability to manage small-to-mid-size electrical projects from start to finish, including scope review, material procurement, scheduling, and progress reporting
• Experience holding morning tailgate meetings, maintaining site safety logs, and acting as the primary point of contact between field crews and project management
Projects are located throughout Southwestern Ontario, typically ranging from the GTA to Windsor. The role includes a combination of local work in the St. Thomas and London area as well as projects that may require out-of-town travel and occasional overnight stays depending on project location.
