Summer Student – Shift work, Term employment
CKF Inc., a leader in Canada’s molded pulp, foam, and RPET industry is a company with a strong commitment to safety and Continuous Improvement. CKF Inc. has plants located in British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia and the states of Iowa and Texas, manufacturing numerous types of food packaging and protective packaging.
We require Summer students to work shifts in our Langley Plant. All shifts are based on a 12-hour work schedule and report directly to Shift Supervisors. Transit is close to the facility.
Main Duties:
· Safety Training and production orientation are provided for all new employees.
· Able to work 12-hour shifts standing on the production line
· May be assigned to various production operations (pulp, foam, RPET and shipping)
· Ability to complete production forms, including calculating production totals.
· All positions are unionized with a starting rate of $24.32 hourly for union jobs.
· Workers receive premium pay for night shifts and Sundays.
· This is a temporary seasonal position with a term of employment from May to September 4
Shift work
· Shift schedules operate on an 8-day cycle based on a 4 days on/4 days off schedule or a rotating 24/5 Monday to Friday Schedule that consists of Nightshifts and Dayshifts.
Qualifications:
· Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
· Must be 16 years or older.
· A minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or production work is preferred
· A criminal record check is required.
