Job Title: Estimator & Sales Representative
Tasks and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Estimator to join our team. This role combines technical estimating expertise with strong sales skills to deliver accurate project proposals and build lasting client relationships. You will work on a mix of residential and commercial painting projects, performing both in-person estimates and plan/drawing-based estimates. Additionally, you will play a key role in converting estimates into sales and ensuring smooth handoffs to our Operations team for project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating:
> Conduct on-site visits to assess project scope, surface conditions, and client requirements.
> Review architectural drawings, plans, and specifications to prepare accurate estimates utilizing estimating software.
> Calculate material quantities, labor hours, and equipment needs for painting projects.
> Prepare detailed proposals, including scope of work, pricing, and timelines.
> Develop new procedures and processes utilizing AI and automation to improve estimating speed and accuracy.
> Other duties as assigned
Sales & Client Engagement:
> Present estimates to clients, explain scope and pricing, and answer questions.
> Build trust and rapport with clients to secure contracts.
> Follow up on leads and maintain a pipeline of opportunities.
> Negotiate terms and close deals while ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
Coordination & Handoff:
> Communicate project details clearly to the Operations team for scheduling and execution.
> Ensure all documentation, specifications, and client expectations are accurately transferred.
> Collaborate with project managers to resolve any discrepancies or changes.
> Provide coverage and support for other team members as required (Production team, admin team, field staff)
Qualifications:
> Proven experience in estimating for painting or related construction trades.
> Strong understanding of residential and commercial painting processes, materials, and techniques.
> Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
> Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
> Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
> Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills:
> Background in sales or customer service.
> Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.
> Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
