The County of Inverness Municipal Housing Corporation (CIMHC) is a Not-for-Profit Corporation under the authority of the Municipality of the County of Inverness. The Corporation is comprised of four (4) entities: two (2) Long-Term Care Homes—Inverary Manor (Inverness, NS) and Foyer Père Fiset (Chéticamp, NS)—and two (2) Small Option Homes—Koster Huis (Mabou, NS) and Port Hood Small Options (Port Hood, NS).

 

Clinical Resource Manager:

Make a meaningful impact where it matters most. This education-focused clinical leadership role empowers Continuing Care Assistants (CCAs) through hands-on coaching, supervision, and practice support, while also leading onboarding, orientation, and required education for all long-term care staff. The Clinical Resource Manager plays a key role in strengthening confident teams, promoting best practices, and supporting exceptional, resident-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership, education, coaching, and supervision to Continuing Care Assistants (CCAs)
  • Lead and coordinate onboarding and general orientation for all new staff, including assignment and tracking of required education
  • Share leadership of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) practices in collaboration with the Clinical Care Coordinator
  • Lead and participate in personal care and practice audits, using findings to inform education and quality improvement
  • Provide education and leadership related to wound care and skin integrity
  • Promote and provide education on best practices in clinical documentation and standards
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident dignity, safety, and quality care
  • Lead and support the PLAR program

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of nursing experience, preferably in long-term care or geriatrics
  • Experience in clinical education, coaching, mentoring, or leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of IPAC practices, wound care, and documentation standards
  • Excellent communication, teaching, and organizational skills
  • Ability to positively influence practice through collaboration and education

Working Conditions

  • Primarily weekday, daytime hours.
  • Flexibility required to respond to education needs, outbreaks, or emerging clinical priorities.
  • Occasional evening or weekend presence may be required.

Accountability and Reporting

  • Reports to Director, Clinical Services.
  • Functions as a clinical education and practice-support resource
