TYFAR Electric Inc. is a growing Ottawa-based electrical contractor specializing in commercial, residential, and service electrical work. We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Entry Level Electrical Estimator.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to work directly alongside ownership and senior management while gaining hands-on experience in estimating, project coordination, and construction management.
The successful candidate will assist in preparing electrical estimates, coordinating awarded projects, sourcing materials, and supporting project execution from tender stage through completion.
This position is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career within the electrical construction industry.
Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents
Attend site visits for new and existing projects
Prepare electrical estimates based on drawings, site conditions, and client requirements
Assist with material sourcing, pricing, and procurement
Coordinate material orders and deliveries
Review awarded projects with site foremen and field staff
Assist with scheduling and project coordination
Review and approve project-related costs to ensure alignment with quoted budgets
Maintain regular communication with clients, suppliers, and internal staff
Support project managers and ownership with ongoing project administration
Previous electrical estimating experience is considered an asset
Experience with McCormick Estimating Software and Suderman estimating systems is preferred but not required
Ability to complete manual estimates is considered an asset
Valid 309A Electrical License is considered an asset
Project management or supervisory experience is considered an asset
Strong organizational and time management skills are required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office, and general office software
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
