CKF Inc. has plants located in British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia and the states of Iowa and Texas, manufacturing numerous types of food packaging and protective packaging.

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Manager, Operations Finance Plastics to lead financial activities that support operational performance across our manufacturing sites. This role is responsible for driving cost transparency, standardizing financial processes, and delivering actionable insights that improve profitability, efficiency, and decision-making.

As a key business partner to Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance leadership, the Manager, Operations Finance Plastics will ensure strong alignment between financial objectives and operational execution while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Costing & Inventory Management

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve standard costing methodologies across manufacturing plants.
  • Maintain accurate inventory costing, including direct materials, labour, and overhead allocations.
  • Manage inventory master data and ensure alignment with evolving business structures and operational changes.
  • Monitor and improve inventory accuracy and costing integrity.

 

Pricing & Product Costing

  • Lead pricing analysis and support pricing decisions for new and existing products.
  • Ensure cost integrity during product development and validate financial assumptions.
  • Provide profitability analysis and financial rationale to support pricing changes and business decisions.

 

Financial Analysis & Performance

  • Analyze production variances related to materials, labour, and overhead, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare and review standard cost and variance reports to support operational performance.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Support data-driven decision-making through insightful financial analysis.

 

Month-End & Reporting

  • Manage and approve month-end activities related to operations finance, including inventory, costing, and accruals.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of operational financial results.
  • Prepare and analyze key financial reports, including:
    • Standard cost and variance reporting
    • CAPEX ROI analysis
    • Continuous Improvement (CI) productivity tracking

 

Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support plant leadership in the preparation of annual budgets, including standard costs, COGS, and overhead analysis.
  • Lead routine forecasting activities aligned with operational assumptions.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.

 

Business Partnering & Operational Support

  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to plant and operational leadership teams.
  • Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and support benefit tracking.
  • Monitor product development workflows to ensure financial alignment.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and operational reporting as required.

 

Process Improvement & Standardization

  • Standardize finance processes across manufacturing sites to improve consistency, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Drive process improvements that reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of SOPs and finance best practices.

 

Qualifications:

 

·  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.

·  Canadian CPA designation or equivalent is considered an asset.

·  5+ years of progressive finance experience within a manufacturing organization.

·  Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory management, and variance analysis.

·  Experience supporting manufacturing or multi-site operations environments

·  Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and business partnering skills

·  Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

 

·  Strong communication and leadership capabilities with the ability to influence cross-functional teams

 

 

Location:

This position can be based at either our plant in Langley, BC or Rexdale, ON.

Salary Range for this position: $100,000 - $115,000.
