We have an opportunity available at our Rexdale, ON location for a Quality & Process Supervisor with 3 to 5 years of experience. This is a full time position working with a dynamic team and a great opportunity to learn all aspects of manufacturing. This position reports to Plant Manager with dotted line responsibility to the VP Operations - West.
• Monitors daily operations to ensure that product quality is maintained as per the quality guidelines, product specifications and the applicable training manuals
• Investigates abnormalities / non-conformances with the intention of rectifying the problems. Analyze quality issues and develop solutions to fix them
• Performs the testing of product and conduct trials where it is necessary to improve a process, condition or product.
• Performs spreadsheet and statistical analysis of historical process and product data, conducts various tests on machines and processing materials.
• Performs regular inspections of Extrusion sheet quality and Thermoformed finished goods. Responds to quality problems and provides troubleshooting analysis and coordinates corrective action.
• Evaluates existing procedures in relation to process changes. Document the Good manufacturing practices, procedures and controls.
• Assist in development of standard operating procedures.
• Investigates problems on production equipment causing losses, poor quality, or safety hazards if unable to resolve at shift supervisory level. Works with support group, shift supervisors, maintenance, etc. to track problems in process, operations and/or maintenance. Implement a plan of action to correct issues in a timely manner. Performs trial & error
• Recommend design and operating changes to equipment/ process if necessary
• Analyse customer complaints and Trays performances. • Monitors BW measurements within Extrusion area
• Perform statistical measurements to understand extrusion lines capability.
• Make necessary adjustment to have optimum performance and maximum saving
• Investigates all CIR's entered against Rexdale Plant. Determines root cause of failure/non conformance & suggests corrective action.
• Communicates findings through CIR process and GMP audits. Works with sales and customers to resolve issues as expeditiously as possible.
• Observes trainees and trainers to ensure training process is consistent with manuals and proceeding as planned.
• Suggests, coordinates & implements continuous improvements projects usually described as small to medium
• Must have a Bachelor in an Engineering discipline or QA diploma or degree
• ASQ/CSQ Certification an asset
• Lean, Six Sigma, Green Belt or Black Belt certification (or equivalents)
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance/Quality Control role(s) within a manufacturing preferably in plastic, foam and food industries
• Must be familiar with GFSI, GMP audits and ERP systems
• Ability to understand appropriate priorities
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to respond to key performance indicators
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work as a seamless team with all areas of Operations
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Power Point
• Rexdale (Etobicoke), Ontario
• Some overtime required when responsibilities warrant it
• Must be available during off hours for consulting and intervening during emergencies
• Flexible to travel on an occasional basis
