Position Type: Full Time, Hourly Pay Range: $28.00 to $32.00 per hour, based on experience

We are recruiting a Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. This is a hands on leadership role for a culinary professional who cares as much about people as they do about food.

Role As Sous Chef at Steak Co., you will partner with our Executive Chef to lead the kitchen team, support culinary excellence, and manage day to day operations of a high quality, guest focused kitchen. You will play a central role in menu development, team development, private dining execution, and the financial health of the kitchen.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead the kitchen team to deliver consistent food quality and presentation across every service period
  • Contribute to menus that reflect steakhouse traditions while incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary ideas
  • Oversee kitchen operations including food preparation, plating, inventory management, and food safety compliance
  • Partner with front of house leadership to support a cohesive guest experience
  • Plan and execute private dining events and special occasions
  • Recruit, train, and develop culinary team members through coaching and structured training
  • Support financial results through budgeting, cost control, and waste reduction
  • Monitor labor costs, food costs, and financial reports to support kitchen profitability
  • Stay informed on culinary trends, seasonal ingredients, and industry developments
  • Collaborate with management on initiatives that support business growth
  • Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen
  • Support a collaborative kitchen culture

What We Are Looking For

  • Sous Chef experience in upscale dining; steakhouse or fine dining background preferred
  • Experience planning and executing private dining and special events
  • Financial acumen including budget management and cost control
  • Experience with menu development and execution
  • Strong leadership skills and interest in developing culinary talent
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Food handler's certification and knowledge of health and safety regulations required
