Burlington Hyundai is seeking an experienced, strategic, and performance-driven Used Car Manager to lead our pre-owned department. This role is responsible for inventory acquisition, pricing strategy, merchandising, reconditioning flow, wholesale decisions, and overall departmental profitability. The ideal candidate is a strong operator with excellent appraisal skills, market awareness, and leadership capability.

 

About the Role

As the Used Car Manager, you will oversee all aspects of Burlington Hyundai’s used vehicle operations. You’ll work closely with Sales, Finance, Service, Parts, and Accounting to ensure inventory health, operational efficiency, and an exceptional customer experience. This role is central to achieving dealership volume, gross profit, and Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Inventory Management

  • Maintain an optimal inventory mix aligned with dealership goals.
  • Monitor aging and maximize inventory turn.
  • Price vehicles competitively using market data and vAuto insights.
  • Ensure high-quality online merchandising (photos, descriptions, pricing).
  • Coordinate timely reconditioning and frontline readiness.

Vehicle Acquisition

  • Complete accurate trade appraisals.
  • Source inventory through trades, purchases, auctions, and alternative channels.
  • Assess vehicle history, condition, and marketability.

Department Performance

  • Monitor gross profit, volume, aging, and key KPIs.
  • Support Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned objectives.
  • Manage wholesale decisions to maximize profitability.

Sales Leadership

  • Assist with desking deals when required.
  • Support sales consultants with inventory selection and deal structure.
  • Coach and develop team members.

Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure OMVIC compliance and adherence to dealership policies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and reporting.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Used retail volume
  • Departmental gross profit
  • Inventory turn & aging
  • Internal reconditioning profit
  • CPO performance
  • Google review objectives
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Online merchandising quality
  • Operational efficiency

 

Compensation

 

Starting at $ 120,000 - $ 150,000 !! with potential for even more earnings based on performance!

 

Qualifications

  • OMVIC Registration (required)
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence
  • Strong knowledge of used vehicle operations
  • Experience with vAuto, CARFAX, and dealership management systems
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
