Job Description

The Electrician plays a critical role in maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable operations across plant and warehouse equipment. This role supports production through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. By minimizing downtime and optimizing equipment performance, the Electrician contributes directly to operational excellence and product quality. Starting wage: $47.04 /hour.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Maintenance & Repair: Complete preventative and corrective maintenance work orders safely and on time to support continuous operations. 

  • Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose and repair high-speed packaging and brewery equipment to minimize downtime and improve line efficiency. 

  • Equipment Installation & Overhaul: Install new production equipment and participate in annual overhauls and upgrades. 

  • Technical Expertise: Program and modify PLCs, and provide process control support in collaboration with engineering and technical teams. 

  • Cross-Trade Support & Documentation: Assist with mechanical and plumbing work as needed and maintain accurate maintenance records within CMMS systems. 

 

Skills and Qualifications (Required) 

  • Provincial Industrial Electrician License (309A or 442A) – Certificate of Apprenticeship 

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Licensed Journeyman Electrician 

  • Experience working with high-speed manufacturing or packaging equipment 

  • Strong knowledge of PLC (Allen Bradley), HMI, ControlLogix, Ethernet, and Data Highway systems 

  • Proven ability to program and modify PLC programs 

  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office tools 

  • Solid understanding of safe work practices (heights, confined space, lockout/tagout, hot work) 

  • Process controls and instrumentation knowledge 

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across production areas 

  • Commitment to food safety standards (ISO 22000) and reporting of non-conformities 

 

Work Environment
This is an onsite role based at the brewery, operating on a continental 12-hour rotating shift schedule (days and nights), including weekends. The role involves working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment and varying conditions.
