El Gaucho Bellevue the Northwest s Steakhouse Legacy is currently seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to join the El Gaucho Bellevue team! We are seeking an Executive Sous Chef with experience in Private Dining and Events.

Successful applicants must possess verifiable knowledge and strength in the following skill sets:

BOH and FOH team building with an emphasis on positive, supportive culture and setting and attaining operational goals

Effective communication style that works with subordinates, colleagues and superiors

Teaching and training cooks to "build the bench" and create a culture of advancement within the company

Maintaining food and labor cost %'s within company guidelines

Creating inspired dishes using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients to surprise and delight guests

Management and production of private dining events from 20 to 250 people including off site events

Use of computers and typical software programs found in the restaurant industry (Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet and POS)

Preferred Degree in Culinary Arts from an accredited culinary school or apprenticeship program and/or equivalent experience

Compensation:| $75,000-80,000| Annual Salary| DOE

 

El Gaucho Bellevue Sous Chef is a professional Chef responsible for all aspects of culinary operations and kitchen management. Responsibilities include overseeing kitchen team, creating menus, overseeing food purchases, managing cost of goods and inventory.

The ideal Sous Chef should have strong leadership skills, be highly organized, have excellent communications skills and have a passion for cooking. Sous Chef should be able to plan and delegate tasks to team and oversee all consistency and food quality in the kitchen.

Our Sous Chef will stay current with industry trends and participate in the development of new menu creations. The position requires extensive knowledge of culinary principles and a deep understanding of cost and profit management. Creative problem-solving and an eye for detail are the key skills for success in this role. A successful Sous Chef should be able to balance creative cooking with efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Preferred Degree in Culinary Arts from an accredited culinary school or apprenticeship program and/or equivalent experience

Knowledge of basic computer applications such as Email, MS Office, Word, Excel.
