El Gaucho restaurant in Portland is seeking a high energy busser/valet to join our incredible team.
The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of exceptional relationship-oriented customer service and effective interpersonal communication skills. We are currently hiring a part time busser who would like to train and fill in as occasional valet. Further cross training across other departments in the restaurant and growth into full time is available as well.
Qualifications:
- Valid US driver's license and safe driving record
- Proficient in operating manual and stick shift vehicles
- Experience preferred
Busser General Responsibilities:
- Communicate with and assist servers to maintain service efficiency and ensure guest satisfaction
- Serve water, bread, and butter to guests and provide refills as needed.
- Are responsible for clearing guests' plates, utensils, and other service items from the table between courses and clears tables after guests leave.
- Replace dishes and utensils for next course and clean and resets vacated tables.
- Return dirty dishes, utensils, and glassware to dish washing area or bar.
- May assist waitstaff in serving tables with hot beverages such as coffee or tea.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well stocked workstations.
- Provide the highest quality of service to guests in accordance with company policies and objectives.
- Strive toward guest satisfaction, positive employee relations and profitability.
Valet General Responsibilities:
- Greeting and welcoming arriving guests
- Opening car doors and escorting guests safely into restaurant
- Safely driving, parking, moving and retrieving guest vehicles
- Organizing, securing and storing guest car keys
- Explaining valet parking procedures
- Basic understanding of restaurant and neighborhood
- Communication with management team
- Hospitality-forward mindset
- Upkeep of sidewalk and valet area
- Maintaining a clean, professional and groomed appearance
- Ability to exhibit professional demeanor under stress
Compensation:
- Busser Hourly Rate: $20-$28 DOE
- Valet Hourly Rate: $16 plus tips
