General Summary:

Position is Quality Assurance Technician for Converting Department.


  • Perform duties in accordance with Company Policies and procedures, as directed by Supervisory Personnel.
  • Discharge duties in a professional manner, showing respect and courtesy to co-workers.
  • Check job board, and find previous run retains for current jobs in queue.
  • Efficiently and thoroughly inspect, and then approve setups on converting machines and printing press in accordance with documentation provided in the work order router and on master. Check against previous run samples when available. (Repeats, Customer supplied samples)
  • At regular intervals, inspect the Rewind, Packaging and Labeling of finished goods in process of manufacture, in accordance with documentation in work order router and master.
  • At regular intervals inspect paperwork, and ensure that Operators and Setup Personnel are completing production logs neatly and accurately.
  • Cover machines for Operators during break periods.
  • Encourage operators to maintain a clean, organized and professional work area
  • Provide proper quality training when necessary. (On machine)
  • When defective product is returned, inspect and provide data to QA Manager; Assist QA Manager and Operations Manager in compiling Quality Data.
  • Responsible to know and enforce all company safety rules and policies.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.

Educational Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Skills and Abilities:

Must demonstrate ability to read work instructions, literate in materials and inventory, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, deadline oriented, multiple task ability, strong basic math skills, strong leadership skills. Proficiency with a variety of hand tools and measuring devices. (I.e. screwdrivers, wrenches, measuring tapes/rulers, micrometers)

Working Conditions:

 Fast-paced factory setting; May be required to lift up to 50lbs.
