Role and Responsibilities The Assembler is responsible for manual assembly of electro/mechanical equipment used in packaging equipment. The Assembler is responsible for meeting the production goal established in a safe way complying with all company safety policies and ensuring that all products manufactured meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and performance standards. Assemble parts for electro-mechanical equipment. Position and fasten units to assemblies and sub-assemblies. Inspect and test completed units. Attach name plates to assemblies. Read and interpret instructions, schematics, blueprints, and drawings. Inspect parts for flaws and imperfections. Measure dimensions/clearance of parts. Test for mechanical reliability. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements High School Diploma (or equivalent) 1-2 years' experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment Experience with micrometers, calipers, and/or height gauges. Ability to do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication). Ability to read and understand assembly and part drawings, schematics and manuals. Ability to work with computers, machines and motion-control assembly. Ability to work with hands, whether directly manipulating components or using controls on an assembly machine. Ability to identify different colored wires, tabs and electronic components. Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to kneel, stand, and squat consistently. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds is required and on occasion, may be required to lift more than 40 pounds. Must be able to operate in all areas of the Plant.
