Welcome To Oakville Chamber of Commerce - Applying For The Coordinator, Membership Support & Engagement Position

The award-winning Oakville Chamber of Commerce representative of 1,200 member businesses of all sizes and sectors is seeking a dynamic, high energy and self-motivated Coordinator, Membership Support & Engagement. The successful candidate is a self-starter and must be able to work under tight timelines, multi-task and troubleshoot related issues. The Chamber is looking for an entrepreneurial candidate with integrity, a positive, can-do attitude and excellent communication and inter-personal skills. The Coordinator, Membership Support & Engagement will work collaboratively with the Chamber Team to best meet the needs of new and existing members.

Membership Services:

  • Assist with growing the membership of the Chamber by supporting the Vice-President, Membership Development in the prospecting, onboarding of new members and the retention of current members
  • Track and connect with new members within six months
  • Enhance and exhibit strong membership value to current and prospective members
  • Act as a connector for and among our members at Chamber events
  • Manage and grow the Chamber's affinity and member program offerings


  • Assist in maintaining a current member and non-member database. This includes insertion of new members, deletion or reinstatement of terminated members and correction of data
  • Assist in generating membership communication material such as new member welcoming & member retention letters etc., as directed by the VP of Membership Development 
  • Prepare monthly membership invoices for mailing 
  • Follow up on outstanding membership invoices 
  • Prepare invoices for magazine/BAOL as directed

Committee Meetings:

  • Coordinate committee meetings, create agendas in consultation with Committee Chair and Executive Vice-President, take and distribute committee meeting minutes
  • Follow through on any work that is generated from committee meetings
  • Maintain list of committee members, ensure confidentiality agreement are obtained and up-to-date.

Preferred Background, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in a business related field preferred
  • Sales and marketing or small business operational experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Strong proficiency in computer skills, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)

  • Work evening and weekends, if required, to execute events successfully
