It is our ‘hands on” and personable approach that allows us to build strong working relationships with our valued clients.  We are seeking a highly competent Accounting Administrator with an entrepreneur mind to join our team.  You will report directly to the CEO.


The Opportunity:

×         Process vendor invoices verifying information, matching purchase orders, coding, entering data, obtaining payment authorization and preparing payments

×         Prepare weekly cheque runs, electronic fund transfers and wire transfers

×         Verify and process expense reports against receipts

×         Obtain revenue verifying information, calculating shipping charges/discounts, preparing/mailing invoices, identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payment

×         Collect revenue reminding delinquent accounts and/or notifying customers of insufficient payments

×         Prepare accounting reports collecting, analyzing and summarizing information

×         Maintain accounting ledgers posting account transactions daily

×         Prepare bank reconciliations, deposit cheques and reconcile monthly statements/ transactions

×         Resolve account discrepancies investigating and/or issuing stop payments/adjustments

×         Provide assistance with budget/cost controls, financial analysis, accounting practices and reports 

×         Receive, research and resolve routine internal/external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate person

×         Maintain office records ensuing files are updated daily

The Candidate:

×         Full cycle bookkeeper

×         Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or Business plus a minimum of five years’ related experience in the transportation sector including Bills of Lading, Proof of Delivery, etc.

×         CGA, CPA or CMA certification, an asset

×         Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

×         Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access)

×         Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

×         High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

×         Excellent customer service to deal effectively with clients

×         Ability to work with multiple priorities under tight deadlines with little instruction or direction
